On February 27, a large fire broke out in the Texas Panhandle that quickly turned into multiple large fires across the region. As of March 5, the fire has already impacted over 1.3 million acres of land and two lives have been lost.

Please join United Rescue Alliance in praying for those affected by the devastating fires in the Texas Panhandle! If you are able to donate, you can be fully confident that 100% of donations will go directly to helping the households affected by this devastation.

For more information, please read the statement from the Texas VOAD below.

Texas VOAD Statement

β€œAt this time, we are concentrating on the safety of our first responders and those being evacuated.  We are trying to make sure everyone has a shelter to go to and their needs taken care of.  If you are affected by a fire, please check in with the closest Red Cross shelter even if you are not staying.  This is how we we keep in touch with everyone needing long term resources.   Disaster Assessments teams will be arriving tomorrow to start doing damage assessments and gathering everyone's needs.  Everyone that has had damage is highly encouraged to enter any damage at the Texas Department of Emergency Management's iSTAT Tool Assessment. https://damage.tdem.texas.gov/ We know the Texas Panhandle has a huge heart and wants to help.  The best way you can do that is by giving monetarily.  At this point in time as structures burn, there is no location to store material things nor have we identified a place to distribute them to ensure they are distributed to the proper persons.  By giving monetarily you are allowing our agencies to use our agencies buying power with the agreements already in place for discounts to purchase the things needed as the needs are identified.  You can do this by giving to the Amarillo Area Foundations Disaster Relief Fund.  There the money is returned to the Panhandle 100% and used to help rebuild and replace through 501c3 agencies and other fiscal agencies that are put in place to assure the Long Term Recovery efforts are aided.  You can donate at the following link: www.amarilloareafoundation.org/disaster As requests for volunteers come in, I will keep everyone posted on this page.  Please continue to check our page for opportunities. Lastly, for any resources available during these disasters and during long term recovery, please contact 211 by dialing it from your phone, chatting with an agent, or searching our database at www.211texas.org . Feel free to message this page for information or email texaspanhandlevoad@gmail.com”
