July 4, 2025 – Flooding Devastates Kerr County
On what should have been a joyful holiday weekend, tragedy swept through Kerrville, Ingram, and surrounding parts of Kerr County. Torrential rain led to flash flooding that overwhelmed the area with little warning. Rivers rose rapidly, homes were submerged, cars swept away, and families faced sudden evacuations. In the chaos, lives were lost and countless others were forever changed.
For our Founder, Angel Poorman, and her husband Norm, this disaster struck especially close to home—Kerrville is their hometown. At 5:30 a.m., they began receiving phone calls and updates from friends and family members affected by the rising floodwaters.
As images of the devastation reached us, we were heartbroken. But we also knew—this is why United Rescue Alliance exists: to stand in the gap when crisis hits, bringing the practical love of Christ to those in pain.

July 5, 2025 – United Rescue Alliance Activates Emergency Monitoring
While much of the nation remained unaware of the full impact, our leadership team at URA began monitoring the situation closely. As reports poured in, we initiated coordination calls with state emergency leaders and regional VOAD (Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster) partners. We started mapping out where we could best serve.
In moments like this, we don’t wait—we listen, we pray, and we move with intention. Our internal team gathered to assess deployment capabilities, resource availability, and relational connections in the region. We were preparing to respond—not just with resources, but with empathy, presence, and hope.

July 6, 2025 – Mobilization Begins
As conditions worsened, we prepared to mobilize a rapid response team from Abilene, Texas, and began the journey to Kerrville. Our goal: to be present and to serve with humility and courage.
That same day, we joined with others across the state for a special Day of Prayer called by Governor Abbott, lifting up every family affected by the floods. On social media, we invited our community to join us in intercession. This wasn’t just an emergency—it was a spiritual battle for hope to rise from the wreckage.
Volunteer sign-ups opened via URA Connect, and we launched our official giving campaign. Already, people began to respond—demonstrating once again that when disaster strikes, compassion rises.

July 7, 2025 – Arriving in Kerrville & Securing Warehouses
Our team at United Rescue Alliance spent the day preparing to deploy. Though we had not yet arrived on the ground, we were actively coordinating logistics, gathering supplies, and making connections with local partners to ensure a swift and meaningful response.
We also began securing warehouse space remotely, identifying locations that could serve as central hubs for receiving and distributing donated goods. These facilities would soon become lifelines for the community—places where help, hope, and healing could begin to flow.
Behind the scenes, conversations were taking place with counselors, volunteers, and supporting organizations. We were building the framework for a response that wouldn’t just meet physical needs but would bring emotional and spiritual care to those impacted.
While our team hadn’t yet physically arrived in Kerrville, our hearts were already there. Every phone call, prayer, and plan made that day was driven by one purpose: to be ready to respond with compassion the moment our boots hit the ground.

July 8, 2025 – Preparing the Ground for Hope
Our team deployed to move into position in Kerrville, our focus was on preparing the infrastructure needed to serve families well. We secured warehouse spaces, coordinated with local partners, and began organizing logistics for the delivery and distribution of essential supplies in the coming days.
At the same time, we began making arrangements with a team of licensed counselors who can provide support to survivors. These professionals will help assess the emotional and psychological needs of those affected by the flooding. We recognize that healing is more than physical—it’s emotional, spiritual, and deeply personal.
Though distribution hasn’t begun yet, the foundation is being laid. With every step, we are moving closer to bringing holistic care to the community. This is the beginning of hope in motion—and we’re grateful to stand together with you in it.

July 9, 2025 – Hope Takes Shape
With both warehouse locations secured and ready, our team began organizing the flow of incoming supplies and laying out systems for efficient and compassionate distribution in the days ahead.
Licensed counselors arrived on the ground and began meeting with our team to assess the emotional landscape of the community. Their presence is a reminder that care must go beyond physical needs—it must also tend to the hearts and minds of those affected. Together, we are working to create safe spaces for survivors to process grief, receive support, and find strength.
We also continued meeting with local partners to strengthen our unified response. From warehouse coordination to spiritual care, every piece is coming together. Though there is still much to be done, there is also a growing sense of hope—because people are showing up, standing together, and choosing compassion.
The road to recovery is long, but we are committed to walking it with this community every step of the way.
Today, we remain active in Kerr County, walking with survivors through this season of recovery. Every donated meal, every box of supplies, and every prayer is part of a larger story—a story of hope rising from the storm.
Because of generous partners like you, we’re able to continue:
Operating warehouses and managing logistics
Distributing food, water, and relief items
Offering trauma-informed care and prayer
Supporting coordination efforts with the state and local nonprofits
Laying the foundation for long-term recovery and healing
This is more than disaster response—it’s compassion in action. We invite you to stand with us.
Make it stand out.
