June News and Updates
Guatemala - Beltway Trip
In partnership with Beltway Park Church of Abilene, United Rescue Alliance will be taking 18 volunteers to Guatemala at the end of June! The trip will be June 28-July 8. While there, the group will be helping the URA Guatemala team to distribute resources and construct houses in the communities of El Campo and El Jocotillo.
More updates will be shared after the trip but in the mean time, please pray for a safe and fulfilling trip for the team and all those that they will come into contact with!
Camp Barkeley Memorial Prayer Garden
This summer, Camp Barkeley, in partnership with United Rescue Alliance, will be starting the Camp Barkeley Memorial Prayer Garden. This garden will be in remembrance of the Tabernacle of David and next to the House of Prayer at the top of the Camp Barkeley mountain. More information will come throughout the summer but the URA and Camp Barkeley teams are very excited about this project!
CPR Course
Early this summer, the URA team participated in a CPR and Basic Life Support training with Dr. Brenda Jones form Lee University! The course educated the URA team on best-practice life-saving measures and CPR.
Thank you Dr. Jones for your expertise!
Good 360 Mattresses
In June, valued United Rescue Alliance partner, Good360, donated mattresses for disaster survivors! United Rescue Alliance had the privilege of distributing those mattresses to those in need. Godfrey Hubert from Hope Recovery and Conroe Mission Center in Houston, Texas, visited the URA headquarters to pick up mattresses for the survivors of the recent Houston, Texas flooding.
United Rescue Alliance is so grateful for our partners and to be able to distribute resources to those in need!
Become a CERT Member!
The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training educates volunteers about basic life saving skills and disaster preparedness. Team members are able to use their new knowledge and skills to volunteer during disasters and assist emergency response organizations and first responders. CERT training includes topics like fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and disaster preparedness.
Thanks to generous sponsorships, the upcoming CERT course is FREE. You will also receive a CERT backpack full of personal protective equipment for the training!
United Rescue Alliance wants YOU to be the next CERT member! You are welcome to sign up as an individual but everything is more fun in a group so grab your family, your neighbors, your church, and anyone else you can think of and spend July 17-20th getting CERT trained!
Join Us for Worship!
Every Tuesday night at 6:30pm, URA hosts a night of worship and prayer at the Camp Barkeley Worship Center. All are welcome and invited!
