Recent Weather Updates

On May 2nd, 2024, Central West Texas was struck by a severe storm that resulted in tornados in Hawley and Hodges, Texas. Six homes were damaged, two homes were destroyed, six individuals were injured, but thankfully, there was no loss of life. The URA team met with local partners to distribute 50 backpacks and hygiene kits to those displaced and affected by the weather.

Please watch our social medias for updates on URA’s involvement and prayer requests. Please consider joining URA next week during Abilene Gives so we can continue to save lives and give hope in times of crisis!

Passover Dinner

The Passover holiday is important to the Christian faith because it is a time to remember the blessing of God protecting the first-born Jewish sons and bringing the Jewish people out of slavery in Egypt. In honor of Passover, United Rescue Alliance hosted a Passover dinner for the team and valued partners and friends. It was a night dedicated to remembering God’s promises, being thankful for His blessings, and spending time in community.

Prayer Summit 2024

This month, Angel Poorman, URA CEO and Founder, had the unique opportunity to travel to Rockwall, Texas, and speak at the Prayer Summit 2024, dedicated to “Establishing a Prayer Mountain for the Nation”. Angel presented to pastors and local leader on URA’s House of Prayer, and the importance of preparedness for local churches and organizations.

Paying It Forward

While at the Lifestyle Christianity University Power and Love conference in March, the URA team met an LCU student who moved to DFW to be a full time LCU student. Because of the cost of school and the move, the student explained to the team that they did not have any furniture in their apartment. The explanation wasn’t a complaint, but an expression of how grateful they were to be able to attend the school. Out of an overflow, URA leadership was able to give furniture to the student and deliver it from Abilene, to DFW. The URA team was so grateful to have met this student and been able to bless them in this way!
