URA Guatemala Updates

During April, United Rescue Alliance Guatemala met with partners and distributed vital resources to Guatemalans in need.

The URA Guatemala team was able to distribute 4 80 lb bags of donated food to families in El Jocotillo, Villa Canales. While there, they also distributed toys to children. This is a community that URA visits often because of the need for outside resources such as food. The team has developed many strong relationships with the community members and cherishes the opportunity to provide them with the resources that they need!

On their trip to El Jocotillo, Villa Canales, URA had the pleasure of bringing a team from one of their partner agencies, The Moore Center. This team consisted of the founder of The Moore Center Guatemala and The Shalom Foundation America: Steve Moore, their Executive Director of America: Caylen Santos, the Executive Director of Guatemala: Micheal Gudiel, and their Medical Director and staff.

Tornado Preparedness

In the last few months, many parts of the country have seen devastating tornados and storms. United Rescue alliance is praying for our partners in Little Rock, Oklahoma, Mississippi, Illinois, and Tennessee.

Please join us in praying for and supporting those affected by the recent weather!

Is Your Household Prepared?

This years tornado season (March-June) has been particularly bad. Even areas that aren’t usually affected by tornados have seen significant damage.

Help ensure sure your family is prepared for any possibility with these simple steps!

  • Find a safe room

    • During a tornado, the safest room in your house is one without windows, and furthest away from any exterior walls. Get together with your family to pick a room and create a plan. Make sure all family members know to head straight to this room when a tornado is coming. Don’t forget your pets!

  • Do drills with your kids

    • Practice, practice, practice! Disasters happen quickly. Make sure your household has an emergency plan and has practiced it as much as possible!

  • Pay attention to the local weather station

    • Be sure to stay updated with the latest weather forecasts!

Join Us for Worship!

Every Tuesday night at 6:30pm, URA hosts a night of worship and prayer at the Camp Barkeley Worship Center. All are welcome and invited!
