Footsteps of Hope: Hope Delivered to Hawley ISD and Lueders, TX

There are moments that remind us just how powerful kindness can be and this week our team experienced one of those incredible moments. United Rescue Alliance and board member, Paul Beale, recently hosted a community cookout at Hawley ISD. This event was more than just a meal it was a moment of laughter, connection and neighbors coming together.

Shortly after this event, Paul returned to Hawley ISD with a mission to deliver nine pairs of shoes for students within the community. The students faces lit up as hope was delivered. These moments of generosity ripple out in ways that are all possible because of our faithful donors at United Rescue Alliance. Thank you for being the force behind our mission.

On May 21, the United Rescue Alliance team had the incredible privilege of delivering 21 pairs of Nike shoes to students in Lueders, Texas. Each team member of United Rescue Alliance got the privilege to pass out shoes to the students, and the excitement our team had when each student receive their box with their name on it  were unforgettable, as many of them shared that these were the nicest shoes they have ever owned.

One student said it best:

“I’m just thankful and grateful that URA gave us these shoes. I’ve been wanting a new pair. Everyone’s been going through a tough time right now, so it’s very, very helpful. I like how y’all saw that and took action—giving people what they needed. And I love how you use the name of Christ while doing it; it gives people confidence and inspires them even more. I like how y’all pick kids for this, because then they can grow up thinking about it and carry that into their future.”

This act of kindness was about so much more than the shoes- It was about the smiles. The hugs. The way the students eyes lit up when their name was called for a pair of Nike Air Jordans.
