The United Rescue Alliance team held a team retreat on October 3, 2024 led by CEO and Founder Angel Poorman. The day was filled with powerful testimony as the team delved into Life Languages and explored the intricacies of the 5 Dysfunctions of a team. Each team member shared their personal testimonies from the past year which fostered growth and connection. This retreat not only strengthened the teams bonds but also equipped them for another year of saving lives and bringing hope to those affected by crisis and natural disaster.

On October 7th, 2024, United Rescue Alliance was proud to participate in the Israel Summit held in Dallas, Texas. The event brought together leaders, visionaries, and advocates dedicated to fostering connections and collaboration between the United States and Israel. United Rescue Alliance is committed to strengthening these ties and looks forward to implementing new strategies that enhance our mission in the community and abroad as we stand with Israel.

The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training educates volunteers about basic life saving skills and disaster preparedness. Team members are able to use their new knowledge and skills to volunteer during disasters and assist emergency response organizations and first responders. CERT training includes topics like fire safety, light search and rescue, disaster medical operations, and disaster preparedness.

United Rescue Alliance wants YOU to be the next CERT member! You are welcome to sign up as an individual but everything is more fun in a group so grab your family, your neighbors, your church, and anyone else you can think of and spend December 4-7th getting CERT trained!

On October 18th, United Rescue Alliance held a board meeting where the CEO and Founder Angel Poorman discussed our ongoing initiatives and future goals. We are also excited to announce the addition of two new members to our board, bringing fresh perspectives and experience to our team. We look forward to innovative ideas and strategies that will emerge as we work together to advance our mission.

United Rescue Alliance, in partnership with Convergence Church, is leading a leadership mission outreach to Guatemala City in March of 2025. The team is coming alongside United Rescue Alliance Guatemala to establish the URA Community Center’s medical clinic. Convergence Church and United Rescue Alliance-Camp Barkeley will be the collection and loading point for a container of supplies to support this effort. In addition to the medical supplies and medical cabinets that will be sent on this container we would love to fill the container with specific items:

On October 23rd, United Rescue Alliance participated in the West Central Texas Emergency Preparedness Conference. Our team hosted an engaging indoor booth highlighting our various trainings and opportunities for involvement. Additionally, we had an outdoor booth featuring our SOS tents and a newly added partnership with Radar Omega and Cyclone Port at Camp Barkeley. This partnership enhances our communication capabilities during emergencies. This time was a wonderful opportunity to connect with fellow emergency management professionals as we look to strengthen our communities.

On October 27th, United Rescue Alliance attended the Beltway Missions Expo. Our team shared exciting details about our upcoming mission trip to Guatemala in collaboration with Beltway Park Church, and URA Guatemala scheduled June 3-14th. This was a fantastic opportunity to learn about our partnership with URA Guatemala and how we aim to make a difference in the local community.

We’re excited to announce that this December 3rd, United Rescue Alliance will be participating in Giving Tuesday! It’s a wonderful opportunity to come together and make a meaningful impact. United Rescue Alliance participated in strategic meetings with Ben Cooley from October 21st to 22nd. This time was spent diving into the mission and vision of URA and looking at how we can better the organization and the people we are able to serve through it.
